We survived our first imunisation

Well, I survived anyway.

Today was Bubba G's two month immunisation and everything went to plan.  I carefully crafted the entire appointment around Bubba G's feeding time so that I wouldn't interrupt her sleep and she would be in a good mood.  So what I did was feed her a bit at home then we played for a bit and then we walked to the medical centre for her immunisation.  My baby angel was great throughout the consultation with the doctor and then when she was getting immunised she let out the biggest cry I have ever seen from her to date.  It was horrible to see her just crying but with lots of words of encouragement from her mama and her little rabbit comforter by her side and she was back to her normal beautiful self in no less than 5 minutes.

I finished the feed in the doctor's waiting room and she fell asleep on my shoulder which was just the cutest thing in the world. We got home and I swaddled her and she was asleep in no time.  Hopefully she is ok for the rest of the day but no doubt there will be plenty of cuddles from her mama and daddy today.

First family trip

I've been living in Melbourne for nearly four years and I haven't really ventured outside of Melbourne. So I was telling Daddy just the other week that we should try and do something "touristy" every month.

This weekend we decided to go to Ballarat for the day and check out Sovereign Hill which back in the 1850's was a gold mining town. The place is now like a live in museum and Daddy, Bubba G and I spent a few hours walking around.  It was much better than we had expected and even learned a few things about how they melted gold back in the day and got an insight on what life was like for miners and their families in the 1850's.  Bubba G was on top form and managed to stay asleep in her pram for most of the day.

Then we went to Hepburn springs for some some afternoon tea before heading back home.  Bubba G was due her feed so we fed and played with her and it was one of the best afternoons ever! She was smiling loads and attracting the attention of onlookers.  The photo below is probably my favourite to date...identical to her daddy and I love it!

Your little Quirks

Bubba G, you are becoming your own little person even at the age of seven weeks.

You absolutely and truly love to be swaddled (in your straight jacket as Daddy says) and you refuse to get to sleep unless you are tightly wrapped.  This of course does make it a bit hard when your Mama takes you out to the shops and you are in the pram un swaddled.  I've tried to introduce you to the world of the Baby Bjorn and so far you are not sure of what to make of it.  We need to get you in it everyday for at least 5 or 10 minutes so that you can get a bit more used to it, otherwise going on a plane with you is going to be extremely stressful!

You are slowly entering the "cat napping" stage as you are starting to wake up mid sleeping time, but hopefully our routine will continue and this is just a phase (fingers crossed!).  You do however give us the biggest yawns ever! I think you are like me in this regard as I love to sleep and I too yawn like a trooper.

poos....ok you are doing some great poos of late! no explosive ones yet but I can always tell when you are going to do one because you scrunch your body and go red in the face and make funny noises as you poo your little heart out, love these moments (until you poo on me then we will see!)
