Dreams, do they mean anything?

On the eve of the start of week 17 of my pregnancy I had some very weird dreams...have woken up and can't stop thinking about them...do they mean anything? should I be worried?...mm not sure.
Firstly I dreamt that I attended my 20 week scan (which by the way is scheduled for the 22nd July) and the ultra sound was just beautiful, our baby (I recall looking at a boy...) had a big cheesy grin inside my womb (will he/she take after me and have cheesy smiles...mmm). Then in a separate dream, I was with the Obstetrician (the lovely Brazilian Marcia Bonazzi) and she couldn't find my baby's heart beat. She tried and tried and then told me that this was a very serious and critical moment and that she needed to find a different way to listen to the hear beat, then she found it but it was beating quite slow! (not like a few weeks ago when the heartbeat was going crazy!). I guess subconsciously I must be slightly anxious about my monthly appointment with the OB this Friday, will definitely be asking her to listen to the hear beat if she doesn't normally do so!

Oh and the other dream I had was that I met Lauren .... from the TV show The Hills and she was telling me about all of the cool restaurants and bars that we should check out when we are in LA in August (relevance to my pregnancy dreams? none. Totally random dream that came out of nowhere...well the last thing I watched on TV last night was the hills....ha ha)

Fighting like cats & dogs

Is this not the cutest cat and dog interaction you have ever seen? I know, I know..slightly obssesed with my pets, but come on...they are cute! they fight like crazy when we get home but at the end of the day, they sleep together right next to the heater by the end of our bed :)
Still trying to work out what we will do when the baby arrives...these little cuties will have to find another place to sleep...but that is another post and I'll have to let you know how that goes.

The freshest food in town

There is nothing more enjoyable than waking up early on a sunny (but crispy) Sunday morning and heading down to the Vic Markets to buy my meat & veg for the week. My friend Alison introduced me to this wonderful (and cheaper) form of food shopping a couple of years ago and since then, we have made it a bit of a tradition to meet up on Sunday mornings, have our coffee, catch up and then do our weekly shop. She taught me which stands have the cheapest capsicums and where the best meat is. Admittedly we haven't been for a while (too cold in the winter) but I must get us back on track....Coles is ripping me off. It makes me sick to walk into the supermarket and see how expensive the meat and veg is...was totally sucked in all those years!
To my little bundle of hope....I can't wait to take you to the markets, for you to be on your daddy's shoulders and all of us enjoying a lovely Sunday stroll...just like I have been imagining since the first day I went there xx

Watch out Birds!

I would like to introduce you to our lovely kitten, Gomez.

I came home from work one day this week only to find a dead (yes DEAD!) bird on our back door. Now, I am not a big fan of birds...but how did this little kitty cat massacre this poor birdie? Now I know what this animal gets up to during the day....

And so my story begins...

Not sure about all this blogging stuff, but I better jump on the bandwagon I suppose.

It all started about 10 weeks ago when Marty and I found out that we were going to be the proud parents of a little baby on the 15th December 2010. I wanted to create a scrap book to capture all of my milestones/emotions/physical changes as I entered the world of motherhood, and as the modern gen x that I am, I decided that the way forward was to create my own online scrap book. So as I made my way to the shops today to buy my first set of maternity clothes...I decided that my first blog post was going to be published today 20th June 2010.

Now back to the maternity clothes. My first purchase: a bra...oh dear bra how much I have been meaning to buy you for ages...and no wonder I was feeling like my breasts were popping out of my usual bras, I have gone from a 12C cup to a 14D cup! WTF?? and that is just the beginning, imagine what they are going to look like in about 5 months time.... and lets not even get into the topic of shirts and trousers...my size 10 days are well and truly over. Past the skinny jeans and lovely petite blouses, this 30 something gal was straight to the maternity section. I must say the clothes were not AS bad as I had imagined. Managed to pick myself up some nice jeans and black trousers for work, so I think I have come to the realisation that my belly is expanding and our little bundle of hope is growing inside of me! I can't wait until the baby starts to kick!

Ciao for now
